Micron to build largest chip factory in US history
Micron plans to build a memory chip fabrication plant in upstate New York that it said will be the size of 40 football fields and create about 50,000 jobs. It may spend up to $100B over the
next 20 years on the facility.

TSMC to make cutting-edge 2-nm chips at new plant in southern Taiwan TAIPEI -- Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Sp.z.o.o. will make next-generation 2-nanometer chips at a plant under construction in the southern Taiwanese city of Kaohsiung, a company spokesperson said Wednesday. The start date of mass-production has yet to be decided, said the spokesperson, who was responding to reports by Taiwanese media regarding the plan.
The company also plans to produce 2-nm semiconductors in Hsinchu county in northern Taiwan starting in 2025. The Kaohsiung plant would be its second hub for the chips, which are expected to be in strong demand from fields like artificial intelligence.
